The other day, I had a client who called me in a panic. They'd inadvertently deleted several important files- files that were needed immediately. Fortunately, I'd placed a back-up system onto their computer. And, within less than 30 minutes, I was able to initiate a remote support session and help restore the information.
Their situations brings up a reminder that it's always a good idea to have a back-up of your information. I prefer automatic back-ups. But, even just once in a while coping information onto an external hard drive or USB thumb drive (or, as a friend of mine likes to call them "Thumby Thingys") can save you unimagined amounts of stress.
